Non si può dire che non siano stati dei Video Music Awards particolari, ma nonostante tutto MTV è riuscita a mettere su una macchina maestosa fatta di performance sontuose, premiazioni mirabolanti e persino un red carpet col dovuto distanziamento sociale. Una cerimonia che ci ricorderemo per molto tempo, effettivamente ben congegnata per cercare di farci dimenticare la situa all around the world.
Lady Chromatica ha fatto incetta di premi, da artista dell’anno a miglior canzone con Rain On Me, ma soprattutto ha regalato alla Terra la prima performance dell’era Chromatica, iniziata con una preziosa citazione di Santa Spears e proseguita con un medley tra la pazzesca 911, la canzone con Ariana e anche Stupid Love con un nuovo pianoforte a tema, come non vedevamo da tempo. Devo dire però che la performance più pazzesca in assoluto è stata quella di Miley Cyrus, con una regia pressoché perfetta e una citazione di Wrecking Ball da brivido assoluto.
